Concrete Slab Requirements

These guidelines are intended to provide general best practices for concrete slab requirements. However, because conditions vary widely by location, project, and lift type, we strongly recommend consulting a certified concrete or structural specialist during your planning process.

General Concrete Guidelines

• Minimum Concrete Thickness: 4 to 6 inches, depending on lift specifications
• Compressive Strength: 3,000 to 4,000 PSI minimum
• Concrete Curing Time: Minimum 28 days before installation
• Reinforcement: Concrete should be reinforced with rebar or mesh per project requirements

Site Inspection & Preparation

• Perform core drilling to verify concrete thickness and strength
• Review building drawings for reinforcement locations and details
• Ensure the concrete slab is poured over a properly compacted sub-base

Important Installation Notes

• Do not install lifts on asphalt, hand-mixed concrete, or unreinforced slabs
• Avoid installing on cracked, defective, or sloped concrete
• All anchor bolts must be at least 6 inches from control joints, seams, or slab edges
• Anchor spacing and edge clearance must follow manufacturer guidelines
• Do not install lifts on mezzanine levels or floors with basements underneath without written structural approval
